Who Am I
I am a mental health specialist with expertise in military & veteran mental health, trauma-informed care, and psychological wellbeing. I hold an MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy and an Honours Degree in Psychology, along with postgraduate qualifications in Science, Management, and Training.
My work focuses on supporting veterans and delivering evidence-based care and developing training programmes that address mental health and the long-term impact of military service.
I serve as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Óglaigh Náisiúnta na hÉireann (ONE), Ireland’s Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel. I provide strategic leadership to advance ONE’s mission: “No Irish Veteran is Left Behind,” working with stakeholders and advocacy groups to improve outcomes for veterans and their families.
I have contributed to the Joint Committee on Defence and National Security, and my work has been featured across national and regional media, including RTÉ, Newstalk, the Irish Independent, and Radio Kerry, highlighting my role in veteran support services, mental health & advocacy, all aimed at improving the welfare and recognition of those who have served. Through both frontline engagement and strategic collaboration, I have worked to amplify the voices of veterans, address gaps in support systems, and promote sustainable, long-term solutions for their wellbeing.
I am also an author and poet, writing on mental health, military life, and lived experience. Outside of my professional work, I love fundraising for ONE Veterans Charity and spending time with great friends who keep me grounded and connected.
My mission is to promote resilience, recovery, and wellbeing, helping veterans and their communities heal, grow, and find strength in their stories.
