Using No Code/Low Code Mobile Application Development to Provide Increased Outcomes in Addiction Recovery.
Addiction recovery services face ongoing challenges in delivering accessible, consistent, and person-centred support, particularly in contexts of limited resources and increasing demand. Digital technologies have emerged as promising tools for enhancing behavioural health care; however, the development of effective digital solutions has often been constrained by high costs, technical complexity, and limited involvement of end users. These barriers can restrict innovation and reduce the relevance of digital interventions within addiction recovery settings.
This paper, Using No-Code/Low-Code Mobile Application Development to Provide Increased Outcomes in Addiction Recovery, explores the potential of no-code and low-code technologies to address these challenges. It examines how such platforms enable addiction services to design and implement mobile applications without requiring advanced programming expertise, thereby supporting greater clinician and service-user participation in the development process. By positioning technology as a complement to, rather than a replacement for, therapeutic relationships, the paper highlights the role of co-created digital tools in promoting engagement, self-management, and continuity of care. Emphasising accessibility, equity, and sustainability, the study demonstrates how no-code and low-code solutions can be meaningfully integrated into addiction recovery and broader behavioural health services.
